An entertaining, fairly frenetic meeting occurred as Fulham and Leicester City shared a point each on Wednesday. These are the three things Foxes of Leicester learned from the occasion:

To be honest, the evening began with mild shock as Claude Puel made four changes from his previous Premier League team. Kelechi Iheanacho replaced injured Jamie Vardy; with Diabate coming in for the benched Demarai Gray.

While, Jonny Evans missed out – another who has been busy internationally and domestically – as Caglar Soyuncu comes in. Finally, Danny Simpson started a league game for the first time since 2017/18. Ultimately, Leicester City and Fulham could have easily won the game with added composure. Not to mention, Kasper Schmeichel’s shot stopping or Kelechi Iheanacho not quite on form, helping the stalemate.

Now we reveal three things we discovered versus Fulham:

Kelechi Iheanacho needs a partner

Former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho seems to require a partner to get the best out of him. Sure, he has produced some solo goals. I remember one pre-season. Although a Shinji Okazaki, or of course, a Jamie Vardy definitely have the capacity to squeeze more from, or play off, Iheanacho effectively, increasing his efficiency.

It is not that the Nigerian cannot perform rounded duties of a typical centre-forward – holding the ball, shielding and close control – but those elements are not his strongest attributes. Finishing and setting others up with minimal touches are where his talents truly lie. Although, you would not believe us that he is a natural finisher, after five minutes at Craven Cottage.

While, the 22-year-old produced three assists in four appearances between the Everton and Bournemouth matches this campaign. Showing his facilitator instinct as a helper, per WhoScored. However, he fared poorly in West London on December 5, with fans again calling for a new scorer to be purchased in the January window. Leicester Mercury gave Iheanacho a measly – but fair – five rating for his display against the Lilywhites.
