Tragically, in October us Leicester City fans – and supporters around the world who are now able to dream – lost the club chairman. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, along with four other people, died in a helicopter crash at the King Power Stadium. This is the latest news from an Air Accident Investigation Branch report:

Sadly, for everyone associated with Leicester City football club, they lost the most significant person to come into contact with them on October 27. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was the much-loved owner and chairman, who died in devastating circumstances.

Yet, his memory lives on, as the team and his son Top – or Aiyawatt – vowed to honour Khun Vichai’s legacy by continuing his success, generosity and philanthropy in Leicester, and further.

On Wednesday, Leicester City played in West London against Fulham and former boss Claudio Ranieri. He attended the tribute area at the King Power Stadium last month in order to pay his respects to Khun Vichai. Honours were even at Craven Cottage and Ranieri again spoke of his fondness for the club and his former chairman, per BBC Sport.

Thursday saw part of a new report released about the circumstances which caused the helicopter crash that took the Thai businessman and four other lives:

"“The helicopter which crashed killing Leicester City’s chairman and four others spun out of control after a mechanism became disconnected, investigators said.An Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) report found cockpit pedals had disconnected from the tail rotor. This caused the AW169 aircraft to turn uncontrollably to the right before it crashed near the King Power Stadium. An inspection at the crash site found parts of a mechanism linking the pilot’s pedals to the tail rotor had become disconnected and there was a “build-up of black grease” on one component.”More can be found via BBC News"

ESPN state that the investigation continues.

Claude Puel was at the ground with family, in his office at the time of the crash, said the Frenchman. Kasper Schmeichel was said to have ran to the disaster site, only to be prevented from attending to the flaming ruins by emerged services.

A memorial service was held Thursday for pilot Eric Swaffer and his companion Izabela Roza Lechowicz who also lost their lives in the incident.

Results of the club can obviously be dramatically affected by incidents so tragic and significant. Especially when partially witnessed, as endured by the Danish goalkeeper. In addition, many of the Leicester City squad flew to Bangkok, Thailand for the funeral of Khun Vichai. They were all offered counseling.

Next up for the Foxes is a return to the King Power to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. Puel will want to claim all three points after a lack of clinical finishing versus the Cottagers on Wednesday. Last time at the ground, Top gave the Watford fans free food and drink for their banners in memory of Khun Vichai.
