There may be no guarantees of any major additions for Leicester City next January, but it surely seems like there will be a few departures.

One of them will be quite an emotional one for anyone who has been associated with Leicester since their days in League 1. It is being reported that Andy King could finally leave the King Power Stadium, with West Bromwich Albion being one of a number of Championship clubs interested in the Welshman.

King was loaned out to Swansea City in January last season after he made just 11 appearances for Leicester. It was rumoured that he might make a permanent move to the Liberty Stadium, but it didn’t happen as the Swans got relegated.

King didn’t move in the summer either, possibly hoping to be a part of Claude Puel’s plans; however, he was sadly left out the 25-man Premier League squad, and he hasn’t featured in the Carabao Cup as well. He wasn’t even on the bench in the penalty shootout win over Southampton (league cup).

Shall he sign for another club, it’ll be the end of a 14-year association with Leicester. Arriving as a 15-year old from Chelsea, King soon made his first-team debut for the Foxes, establishing himself as a mainstay in a side that then plied its trade in the League 1.

Since then, King’s career has only been the stuff of fairytales, with the Wales international winning everything from the League 1 to the Sky Bet Championship and, of course, the Premier league title in 2015/16. Till date, he remains the only player in the Premier League era to have done so.

Truth be told, if Puel were to play him the Premier League, he’d still get more out of King than he has from most of his players.
