Fenerbahce are set to hold talks with Leicester City for Adrien Silva – that’s what the word is from Turkey.

It is also being reported that the Super Lig outfit’s director of football, Damien Comolli, is on his way to Leicester to begin the proceedings.

Comolli could have a problem, though, because of Sporting Lisbon’s – Silva’s former club – interest in bringing back the Portuguese midfielder. Leicester would do well to get back even half of the £25 million that they paid Sporting for the 29-year old last summer.

We have got a transfer saga here, haven’t we? Well, Silva and sagas have always had a strong bond.

Here’s a man who had to wait for about seven decades – that’s what it felt like – before he could play for Leicester because someone was 14 seconds too late in sending a few probably irrelevant sheets of paper.

And even after having to wait for ages, Silva has very rarely had thr privilege to be on the field for Leicester. He has made just 21 appearances so far, just three of which have come this season. Here’s another fun fact: just ten of them have come in the Premier League.

Those numbers tell a story, and while it’s an incomplete story at the moment, the end is easy to predict: Silva leaves Leicester and plays happily ever after with either Islam Slimani at Fenerbahce or Nani at Sporting – the former isn’t a particularly exciting prospect, to be honest.

Another possible ending is that Claude Puel is sacked and Silva stays. This would be dramatic.
