Claude Puel’s job is safe at Leicester City: reports
National media are now reporting Leicester City manager Claude Puel has been reassured of his position at the King Power Stadium. He expects to have until the end of the season to win back support from some fans.
Whilst ‘Puel in’ versus ‘Puel out’ reaches fever pitch, we can assume similar discussions take place in the confines of Leicester City executive meetings. Quite a few people are expecting Claude Puel’s Foxes dismissal; some want it; many placed bets on it.
National media are continuously speculating on the Frenchman’s future at Leicester City, however the latest on Tuesday January 22, is this:
"Leicester tell Claude Puel his job is safe as speculation grows he’ll be sackedMirror Sport understands Puel has been told his future is not under immediate threat after taking charge in October 2017 on a deal until 2020Claude Puel is confident of a stay of execution at Leicester and expects to be given until the end of the season to try to win over unhappy fans.Puel remains the bookies favourite to be the next Premier League boss to be sacked.(Via: Mirror Sport)"
Subsequently to the opinion from their sources, the outlet also mentions the managers thought to be in consideration for the Foxes manager position: Brendan Rodgers, currently of Celtic; Rafa Benitez, Newcastle United boss; and David Wagner, recently relieved of duty at Huddersfield Town.
Recent form for the Foxes includes five losses in eight top-flight outings; Cardiff and Southampton are among the victors on travels to the East Midlands.

In addition to the former report, Guardian suggest the 57-year-old wants his players back from a long rest with smiles on their faces; physically and mentally rejuvenated; and ready to put things right in training. Though practice is apparently an issue for some squad members too.
So Puel is embattled, ready to fight for his job – which is great to hear, as long as the football improves somewhat. Especially at the start of passionately fought Premier League contests. Only Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha will ultimately decide the former Monaco man’s fate.
On January 30 Liverpool welcome Leicester to Anfield in the next round of premiership fixtures. Puel then faces Manchester United and Spurs as his tenure becomes more testing with a particularly difficult run. Yet, last time he faced adversity in the top-flight, the Foxes took nine points from Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton combined.
