Liverpool may have received yet another blow ahead of their clash against Leicester City at Anfield.

As if the long list of key absences wasn’t giving Jurgen Klopp enough headaches, centre-back Virgil Van Dijk is a doubt for tomorrow as well because of an illness.

The 27-year old hasn’t been well since returning from the Reds’ trip to Dubai, and though he has trained, it is hard to tell whether he will start on Wednesday.

Klopp has already confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee ligament injury) is still not fully fit.  Add to that, Joe Gomez hasn’t even returned to training yet.

More from Foxes of Leicester

You can now almost see Claude Puel gambol around the East Midlands because of the percentage that Leicester’s chance of getting at least a point against Liverpool has gone up by.

It obviously isn’t a very high percentage but it’s better than before and enough for the team to feel more positive about a historically tough trip to Anfield.

And they do need to feel more positive at this moment after three consecutive defeats to Newport County, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

All three of these defeats have highlighted the different sets of shortcomings that Leicester are badly in need of overcoming if they are get their season back on track. Finding the right balance between attack and defence will be a good start.

dark. Next. 3 players who may still leave Leicester City before February

Leicester have either been too cautious – like against Southampton – or too open – like against Wolverhampton – and till the time that continues, they will keep finding ways to drop points.
