AS Monaco are expected to announce the departure of midfielder Youri Tielemans on loan to Leicester City until the end of the season tomorrow, according to L’Équipe.

The Ligue 1 outfit will also make Adrien Silva’s loan deal official, with his medical already completed this afternoon.

It will disappoint the fans, though, that contrary to the reports, Leicester would not be signing Tielemans on a permanent deal, as Monaco are looking to make more money off him in the summer. Arsenal, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have all enquired about the Belgian.

Regardless, at least for now, Leicester are getting what they have been wanting for some time. They are getting rid of two problems with one transfer: A problem departs in Silva and a midfield solution arrives in Tielemans.

Also, who knows if Silva might return a better player after being coached by Leonardo Jardim? Sometimes, even a brief change of environment can do you a world of good and maybe that’s what the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder needs.

And if it still doesn’t work, he can be offloaded in the summer when it’s easier to get deals over the line.

At least till then, Claude Puel won’t have to worry about giving him enough playing time, and he can completely focus on what lies ahead in the season – which is what is currently required.

Speaking of which, Leicester next play Liverpool at Anfield before hosting Manchester United on Sunday. Followed by that is a trip to the Wembley Stadium to take on a rattled Tottenham Hotspur. Good luck saving your job, Mr. Puel.
