Leicester City disappointingly lost for the third successive time at home, following a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United. Foxes manager Claude Puel spoke after the match, insisting his team deserved at least a share of the points:

Three losses at the King Power Stadium is definitely a concern for a club like Leicester City, who sit in 11th place in the Premier League. Not exactly fulfilling roster potential, aspirations. Neither are the team entertaining much in the process.

Subsequently the Foxes visit Wembley, to play not particularly inform, yet a winning Tottenham Hotspur. Things just don’t get any easier for under pressure manager Claude Puel.

Losing at home to Cardiff City and Southampton did him no popularity favours amongst the Blue Army of late; despite beating Manchester City and Chelsea over the festive period. Of course Leicester impressed in the Anfield draw with Liverpool though.

A disappointed Puel spoke to Leicester’s own media after the Red Devils clash, bemoaning once again the bad beginning approach to games – another typical goal conceded. In addition to believing his side did enough to warrant a share of the spoils:

"“I think at the end it’s not a fair result because we deserved a draw, perhaps more. Our beginning of the game is not enough, another goal conceded early and it’s another situation to chase the game and to get back against this team is difficult.”Via: lcfc.com"

The Frenchman also talked in more detail around the subject of his team’s frail defence, especially in the those early stages of matches. Stating that, although he is encouraged by the ability and comeback determination shown by his squad, admittedly, his pleases require improved game management to correct the slow starts. Fair play, ‘Puely’.

Pathetic and difficult to watch as the initial 15 minutes are in contemporary times, we are confident the former Monaco gaffer can put it right. Not to mention confidence being a definite factor defensively – as FoL explained before: it then deteriorates increasingly as the problem persists.

More from Foxes of Leicester

This writer has jokingly referred to the Leicester City side in recent months as Slow Start FC. However the jovial acceptance of the Foxes’ lethargic openings is getting to become a drag; it was a laughter is the best medicine move to begin with.

It is an absolute must that the 57-year-old makes creating solid starting points his fundamental foundation as of now. A main priority to implement. While it was refreshing to see the hosts make a great number of chances – 17 shots in total – the ruthless, clinical nature escaped them.
