Crystal Palace will be without as many as three players for their clash against Leicester City on Saturday.

Pape Souare (dislocated shoulder), Julian Speroni (thigh injury) and Connor Wickham (knock) are all expected to miss the Eagles’ trip to the King Power Stadium.

However, Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins, having missed the Premier League game against West Ham United, could be fit after they were both included in the squad for the FA Cup fixture against Doncaster Rovers.

Wilfred Zaha – one of Leicester’s chief tormentors – will also be back from suspension, meaning that Claude Puel’s hopes of ending the winless streak haven’t received any major boost.

The electric winger has scored two and assisted one in his last two appearances against Leicester, and if you happen to watch the highlights from last season – he was suspended for the reverse fixture in December – you’ll notice that he contributed much more than the statistics show.

This isn’t it. Leicester could possibly be without Ben Chilwell and James Maddison tomorrow, so in short, everything is against Puel’s side. Even the number against Palace don’t make for good reading.

It has been over two years since Leicester last beat the Glaziers. In the last four meetings between the two sides, Palace have thrice ended up on the winning side and drawn once. The aggregate score? 9-0.

With just one win in the last eight games across all competitions, Leicester are badly in need of finally beating their bogey team (is it too early to use this term?). If they don’t, we’re looking at a number of consequences, as we have been for some time.
