It’s likely most out-of-contract players will leave
Brendan Rodgers’ recent comments on Leicester City’s former champions and out-of-contract players are fairly ominous, when put under scrutiny.
This past week has been awful for new Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers. Enduring death chants, criticism from pundits, former players and journalists. Then his Glasgow home was burgled.
“Horrendous” is the word the 46-year-old used to describe his wife and daughter’s ordeal. Let’s hope time can heal, and that they are safe as Rodgers moves them to Leicester, in now sped up time.
Naturally these troubling events derail the buildup to Premier League games, the reason we’re all here. Although, another important, telling future prediction can also be made following the gaffer’s latest statement on the roster.

Leicester City’s out-of-contract
Leicester Mercury report the comments from the Northern Irishman’s second Foxes press conference, which was supposed to be focusing on the upcoming match with Fulham. Here, however, our focus is on soon-to-be out-of-contract squad members:
"“I’m interested in it. It’s important for me to understand the situation and where each player is at.“We have to respect their history here and what they’ve achieved but we have to plan forward and see where they can contribute.”– Brendan Rodgers"
The players in question here are Wes Morgan, Christian Fuchs, Shinji Okazaki and Danny Simpson. All of whom have expiring deals at the King Power Stadium. Now that Rodgers has associated terms such as ‘plan forward’ with these names, after saying that the club will remember their Leicester City history, their statuses seem ominous.
Fuchs has clearly stated he wants to move full-time to his home in New York; but he said that last season as well. Simpson was revitalised under Claude Puel somewhat; consequently showing reliability but somehow appearing obsolete – similarly to Blockbuster. Okazaki will surely depart once Leicester sign Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson or the Cottagers’ Aleksandar Mitrovic – fingers crossed.
Morgan started the recently appointed manager’s initial contest, a 2-1 loss to Watford. Rodgers also proposed a 12-month extension for the Jamaican on Filbert Way, per Telegraph Sport. In addition, the man in charge said Morgan still has a role to play on and off the field. Rodgers will want to stamp his own style on the team; while many observers condemn the once-champions’ negative dressing room influence.
