Which system will new Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers employ for a rather tricky trip to Burnley? Foxes of Leicester believe they have the answer.

Well, we are fully in the swing of a new era at Leicester City. Encouragingly, the feeling is way more positive in regard to stability and future achievement. Brendan Rodgers seems hungry and happily content in his new Foxes role.

There have been so many aspects and factors of daily football club life for the former Celtic boss to get to grips with. Training is said to be more enjoyable and less technical, while the squad members are evidently excited about their improved prospects under a star manager.

More from Foxes of Leicester

For a long time now there’s been intensive deliberation over whether which formation Leicester City should use on a regular basis. Leicester Mercury quote Rodgers’ insight into his developing formula and usable systems:

"Rodgers justifies the 3-4-3 against Watford:“There’s no preference [in regard to a favoured formation]. I’ve always played with multiple systems. I don’t have any preferred system.“We played with 3-4-3 last week (at Watford), 5-4-1 when we were defending, because they played with two strikers, and one of them was really quick, Gerard Deulofeu.Rodgers then explains the 4-1-4-1 versus Fulham:But Fulham, they only play with one striker, so we didn’t need three (centre-backs). We played with two and with an extra attacker."

So the Blue Army can expect to see varying layout in upcoming fixtures. It appears that the Northern Irishman’s decision will be tailor-made for each individual matchup. Clever and intriguing for the tactical connoisseurs out there.

Leicester City’s opponents

Burnley have frequently fielded two strikers, former City forward Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes. In addition to being an away contest – which usually garners a more defensive setup – therefore our prediction is for Rodgers to reinstate the three-centre-back layout.

This will naturally include club captain Wes Morgan. A player who the gaffer says will still be involved and have a role; with a proposed one-year extention to the Jamaican’s existing deal.

Our speculative lineup in a 3-4-3 looks thusly:

Kasper Schmeichel; Jonny Evans (left-centre-back), Wes Morgan central defender, Harry Maguire (right-centre-back); Ben Chilwell (left-wingback), Ricardo Pereira (right-wingback); Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans (central midfielders); Harvey Barnes (left-forward), James Maddison (right-forward with a licence to roam); Jamie Vardy (main striker).
