Burnley 1-2 Leicester City: Three things we learned
Buying Youri Tielemans won’t be easy for Leicester City
Youri Tielemans had been hyped well before he had completed his move to the King Power Stadium. Now that he’s here, pleasing our eyes and stealing our hearts, it doesn’t feel like even the hype did justice to his talent.
In six appearances for Leicester, he has assisted three goals – including Wes Morgan’s winner the other day – and scored one. While this output from the midfield is what Leicester had badly missed, it’s more Tielemans’ ability to play that defence-splitting pass that this team has craved for the most.
The way he is playing, there is a fear deep inside that the Foxes could miss out on him come the summer. There’s no way that no one among England’s or even the other leagues’ big boys has taken note of his performances.
If they do come with a big offer, it would be a no-brainer for AS Monaco. And who knows if they decide to keep him with them? Either way, it’s not going to be easy (and cheap) for Leicester to sign Tielemans on a permanent basis.
