Another victory for new boss Brendan Rodgers saw his Leicester City side inflict a 2-0 defeat on Bournemouth. Here is Foxes of Leicester’s match report.

Welcome to Foxes of Leicester’s match report from the Bournemouth clash on Saturday. Let’s start at the beginning. There were no surprises in the starting line-up announcement, with captain Wes Morgan the only change for Leicester City. Replacing the suspended Harry Maguire. The rest of the side almost automatically picks itself at present.

Morgan scored once again for the King Power club, setting the Foxes on the way to victory early after 11 minutes. Assisting him was the ever dependable Ben Chilwell; the ball broke to the full-back following a corner. He shot from the edge of the box, and as the effort came towards the skipper he finished with a deftly innovate heel.

Is there no end to Morgan’s talents?! Seriously though, this writer must eat some of his previous words – or even whole old articles. The Leicester City man has been wonderful of late, not just his finishes either. No. There’s been a considerable improvement in areas he was lacking: touch, confidence, simple passing. Putting aside some worries. Bravo. Especially at age-35.

What impressed most on the day was the way the team has now acclimatised fully to the possession dogma. It has to be noted that Youri Tielemans was influential in that materialising. His effortless general midfield play enhances and is a joy to watch – again, reminiscent of Esteban Cambiasso.

Yet that is not the only area in which players excelled: speaking of consummate defensive work, Ricardo Pereira appears more astute at the back since Brendan Rodgers’ arrival. Which is slightly ironic because both favour the attacking side of the game.

More from Foxes of Leicester

James Maddison is another who must be cited for his superb contribution in the contest. Predictably – literally for @FoxesofLCFC’s verified Twitter account – Maddison’s partner in midfield crime Tielemans combined with Jamie Vardy again for the final goal, capping a near perfect display for the Foxes.

Wilfred Ndidi was close to snatching our Man of the Match award away from his Belgian colleague. Nigeria’s defensive midfielder stood out in his exceptional capacity as retriever and breaker of plays. However, Tielemans’ overall application at both ends, as well as being the catalyst to enable his manager’s ideal, makes him the teacher’s pet’s pet.
