Leicester City won their third consecutive game under Brendan Rodgers to spice up the race for the seventh spot. Here are the major talking points from their 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth:

Leicester come good against Bournemouth at the right time

It was Leicester’s first ever win against Bournemouth in the Premier League and boy did it come at the right time. The Foxes couldn’t afford to slip up at this time of the season, more so because their fixture the other day was one of their easiest – at least on paper – in the run-in.

Before their victory on Saturday, they had failed to beat the Cherries in seven attempts, losing twice and drawing five times. Thankfully, they were able to make their terrible record against Eddie Howe’s side somewhat better.

As a reward, Leicester are now level on points with Wolverhampton Wanderers, who lost 2-0 to Burnley. They do have a game in hand, but at least, there’s more pressure on them than before.
