Leicester City are among the most liked teams in the Premier League, according to a fan poll conducted by the Mirror.

They’ve been ranked as the 14th most hated team, or if you look at it another way, then the seventh most liked team in the division.

Just 18.6% fans put themselves on record as those who dislike the Foxes. In comparison, 68.7% of the fans said they hate Chelsea, who top the table in this regard. Now that is some loathing.

The relegated Huddersfield Town, on the other hand, are the most liked by the fans, with only 9.7% voting against them. The rest of the top four (or the last four) spots are taken by AFC Bournemouth (10.2%), Burnley (13.3%) and Fulham (15%). Here is the table in full:

1. Chelsea: 68.7%

2. Manchester United: 68.1%

3. Liverpool: 52.8%

4. West Ham United: 47.6%

5. Arsenal: 46.2%

6. Tottenham Hotspur: 43.5%

7. Manchester City: 38.7%

8. Cardiff City: 36.5%

9. Crystal Palace: 29.7%

10. Everton: 27.0%

11. Watford: 24.0%

12. Newcastle United: 23.5%

13. Wolverhampton Wanderers: 20.1%

14. Leicester City:18.9%

15. Southampton:16.3%

16. Brighton and Hove Albion:16.2%

17. Fulham:15.0%

18. Burnley:13.3%

19. AFC Bournemouth: 10.2%

20. Huddersfield Town: 9.7% (Relegated here, too).

Leicester are deservedly among the most lovable teams. It’s not just down to the fans and the players but the club in general – particularly the owners.

The Srivaddhanaprabha family have always expressed their love for the fans and connect so well with them. There is no count of occasions when they have offered free food and beers and what not to the fans who come to watch Leicester at the King Power Stadium. It might not be a big deal for some but it’s the small things that go a long way in defining owner-fan relationships.

Similarly, there is no count of the super classy gestures made over the years. No wonder that all football fans love them and the club.
