With the Summer window on the horizon, Leicester City may raid the Championship for fresh recruits. Here are three of the best the league has to offer:

Leicester City have seen plenty of success when bringing players up from the second tier this season. Above all, James Maddison, signed for an estimated £22 million last summer, has made an immediate impact at the King Power Stadium, making 30 appearances this season. Similarly, Harvey Barnes shone while on loan at West Brom before he was recalled by City, allowing him to break into their starting XI.

This success may tempt Jon Rudkin to search the Championship for yet more reinforcements to enhance Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Here are three of the best options currently plying their trade in England’s second tier, that could improve the Foxes’ first-team squad:

Jayden Bogle

The 18-year-old right back is experiencing a breakthrough season at Derby County, having already made 39 appearances for the first team. With an average of 2.4 tackles and 1.6 clearances per game, Bogle has displayed his defensive proficiency, while his five assists underline his ability to create chances from full-back.

Also, with Danny Simpson’s contract expiring this summer, Leicester City potentially need to bolster their options at right back. Burnley have already had a £7 million bid rejected, reported by Derbyshire Live, with the Rams seeking an improved offer.City could easily swoop in and beat Burnley to Bogle’s signature this summer, especially if the Clarets are relegated.

The Reading-born defender presents a cheap solution to the East Midlands club’s lack of depth at full-back, while his youth makes him a solid investment for the future. Purchasing of a right full-back would also allow Ricardo Pereira to play in a more advanced position at times.

A potential stumbling block for the Foxes is that Derby may be unwilling to sell one of their most talented academy graduates to an East Midlands rival. However, the two clubs have done plenty of recent business together, including the two Welsh Internationals, Andy King and Tom Lawrence.

Similarly, Leicester may not even need to sign Bogle, should Daniel Amartey make a full recovery from his ankle surgery.
