Jamie Vardy’s revival at Leicester City has paralleled that of his team after Brendan Rodgers’ appointment.

The 32-year old has eight goals and in his last eight Premier League appearances, taking his season’s tally to 16 strikes – three more than anyone outside the Big Six.

His current form is a far cry from what fans had grown used to seeing under Claude Puel. He was well out of his depth, which often gave the impression that he was done and dusted at the top level.

But Rodgers’ arrival has led to Vardy’s revival and he is back to being the main man that he generally has been for Leicester.

How exactly has the Irishman turned Vardy’s season around, though? Tactical adjustments, as the gaffer himself revealed.

"“When you have seen Leicester’s title run, some of the passes from deeper were with quality and played him in, and he got a goal from that position, and obviously over the last few years, teams have worked that out a little bit,” said Rodgers.“How we have tried to work in training is to bring the ball closer to him in order to serve him better.“He has still got great legs, you see his speed. He is such a threat, he can occupy the whole back four on his own, but he has been a joy to work with.”"

Leicester will need Vardy to maintain the current level till the end of the season as they prepare for their games against Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

After the defeat and draw against Newcastle United and West Ham United respectively, they are in a position where dropping points is no more an option if they are to finish seventh in the league.

While Harry Maguire has set a target of seven points from the three remaining fixtures, it might not be enough.

Next. Raheem Sterling said Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers influenced him greatly. dark

What makes the situation worse is the fact that the race for seventh now includes Everton, too, who currently sit at the very position after the 4-0 hammering of Manchester United.

So it’s a race between four teams now: Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester and Everton. Leicester miss and someone else will hit.
