Leicester City blew away a poorly mediocre Arsenal side 3-0 at King Power Stadium. Here are three things we learned from the contest.

A superb overall showing from Leicester City saw them defeat a particularly poor Arsenal side 3-0 at King Power Stadium on Sunday. Ainsley Maitland-Niles was unlucky but naive as he received a red card; this moment wasn’t pivotal, as Brendan Rodgers’ outfit ran Unai Emery’s side ragged all match.

Loan starlet Youri Tielemans started the goalscoring in the second half following some excellent yet wasteful Foxes attempts. Jamie Vardy pestered the Gunners’ defence as usual, grabbing himself a brace in the process.

Unfortunately for Leicester, Wolverhampton Wanderers look set for seventh place in the Premiere League. Rodgers also has the imposing prospect of Manchester City and Chelsea in the final two games to prepare his squad for.

3 Things learned from Leicester City Vs Arsenal

First of all this display from Leicester increased the righteous hype around the young roster and the Northern Irishman’s astuteness as a boss. It was a crushing blow to Arsenal’s top four hopes, especially to be dominated so thoroughly throughout the contest. Which bolsters the entire Foxes setup further.

However, nothing is perfect and there are areas for assessment as well as improvement, according to this writer. A dynamic intensity which leads to a clinical nature was missing in a lackadaisical sense during the first half.

When playing a standard top-flight club, with 73% possession along with 12 shots on goal, any side should go in ahead if they’re clinical enough. Against a normally deadly team like the North Londoners, it is vital to take chances. Or, more than often, you’ll be on the receiving end of a drubbing.
