Leicester City might not be able to keep Youri Tielemans beyond this season, says Gary Neville.

Since joining the club on loan from AS Monaco, the 21-year old has revitalised not just the midfield but the complete team.

He has been monumental in Brendan Rodgers’ fine start as Leicester manager, assisting four goals (five overall) and scoring three in the eight appearances (11 in total) he has made so far under the Irishman.

Rodgers has already confirmed that Leicester are working towards Tielemans’ permanent acquisition; however, Neville doesn’t seem to think that the club is going to find it easy to sign the Belgian for a number of reasons. The Manchester United legend said:

"“On Tielemans… I think the issue that Leicester will have is that there are midfields in the top six that need strengthening.”"

Neville was then interrupted by Graeme Souness (yes, the guy who just can’t bear the sight of Paul Pogba) and Sky Sports host Dave Jones as both jestingly asked who among the top six was he specifically talking about.

The three shared a laugh before Neville continued:

"“But there are midfields in the top six that need strengthening.“Twenty-one-year-old, available they say for £40m.“He’s proved himself in the Premier League, almost like a dress rehearsal at Leicester.“Leicester could struggle to keep him because of the fact that other clubs may want him.”"

Neville makes sense whenever he talks and it is no different this time. Of course, the way Tielemans has been playing, not just the Premier League’s Big Six but the top clubs around Europe must be keeping an eye on him, too.

Plus, Monaco’s quoted price reportedly being only £40 million and that too for someone who’s still only 21, Leicester wouldn’t be able to run away with him so easily. The big boys won’t let them.

Come the summer, this deal is definitely going to get complicated. One can only hope that Tielemans stays at the King Power Stadium.
