Leicester City have got the required ammunition to be able to hurt Manchester City, says Sky Sports Pundit Paul Merson.

The Foxes travel to the Etihad Stadium for what could be a potential title-decider for the reigning champions if Liverpool lose to Newcastle United on Saturday.

But there are more people worried about City dropping points than Liverpool as they face a Leicester side that is fresh from a 3-0 drubbing of Arsenal and in the kind of form that any side would want to avoid them in.

Merson – who is normally never correct with his predictions – certainly shares this opinion.

Although he doesn’t think that Brendan Rodgers’ side are going to come back home with any points, he has admitted that Leicester are the one team outside the top six that the Reds would pick for City. He said:

"“Never say never here. I’ve seen this Leicester team play and they’re a decent team,” he told Sky Sports.“Manchester City will have a go, and they’ve got the ammunition to hurt them on the break with Vardy’s pace.“They wiped the floor with Arsenal last week. They’re not used to having the ball but Brendan Rodgers has got them looking like a real good team.“I’m not saying they’re going to win, but if you were Liverpool and you had to pick someone for City to play outside the top boys, who didn’t have much to play for, you’d pick them.“City looked nervous against Burnley, but the longer it’s 0-0 or 1-0 here, you never know.”"

Forget about the result, this is going to be a mouth-watering tie between two teams whom this game is very, very, very important for.

For City, this is about the Premier League title, whereas for Leicester, this is another game where they try to push for seventh – their aim for the season.

Were Leicester to get a result at the home of the champions, though, it would not be taken particularly well, especially by those who Raheem Sterling became the voice of in the BT Sport Industry Awards.

Next. Leicester City can beat any team, says Brendan Rodgers. dark

So Leicester fans have a choice to make here: Do they need a win or do they need Liverpool to not win the title?
