Jermaine Jenas has advised his former club Tottenham Hotspur to go ahead and sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.

That’s another Leicester player gone into the “sign him up, Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool/Manchester City/Manchester United/ Tottenham Hotspur” because, well, why should the Foxes have all the fun.

James Maddison, Youri Tielemans, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell, Ricardo Pereira and Jamie Vardy have all been suggested by someone to someone of late. At this rate, Leicester will only have Brendan Rodgers and his pals left to line-up next season.

Especially if pundits like Jenas have their way, who constantly seem to forget that the Cheese Room doesn’t count as a currency in transfers. Anyway, here’s what he said:

"“I can see Leicester getting attacked at some point this year. Ndidi has had a good season. In line with Doucoure at Watford. These are the midfielders that Spurs, United could do with.”"

Let us put this on record – and most Leicester fans will agree – that Ndidi is the one player that the club absolutely can’t afford to sell at any cost. You can let go of Maddison, you can let go of Maguire, but not the Nigerian.

There aren’t too many clubs who have a defensive midfielder like Ndidi guarding their defence – not someone so dedicated to the cause anyway.

He is finally blossoming into a well-rounded DM after a period wherein we had become accustomed to seeing him commit error after error. And his partnership with Hamza Choudhury against the bigger teams has become key to Leicester picking up points against them. Take either of the two out and there is trouble, particularly Ndidi.

This is going to be a crucial, crucial summer for Leicester and they’ve got to make sure that they keep hold of most of their star players; otherwise, all the progress made is pointless.
