Manchester City are keen on signing Youri Tielemans and have contacted his representatives, reports The Sun.

The English champions have joined Leicester City, rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the young midfielder as Pep Guardiola looks to add more quality to his already ridiculous squad.

City will obviously not have any problems paying £40 million for Tielemans, so if the reports are true, then this is their race to win, even though Spurs and United have already held talks with the player’s agent.

Choosing between Manchester City, Leicester, Spurs and United is hardly tough for any player, given how much success the Citizens have been enjoying.

Meanwhile, there’s no news on Leicester’s pursuit of Tielemans, except the reports that they are not interested in signing the Belgian international for £40 million anymore – which is bad news.

Most of us share a  fixation with Tielemans, having seen such sumptuous midfield displays during his loan spell at the club.

In 13 appearances for Leicester, he scored thrice and assisted five goals. That is a formidable return for a central midfielder, especially someone who is so young as well.

It would not make much sense if Leicester do not sign him because of the price tag. £40 million for a player of his quality and age is nothing in the modern-day transfer market.

If he turns out to be as good as we all think, that £40 million would rise to £100 million in no time. So there is profit to be made in case Leicester want to sell in the future. You can look at it any way and it’s a win-win.
