The season has come to an end, so what’s in store for Leicester City for the next three months? Speculations, transfers and a couple of pre-season games.

Let’s talk about transfers. Here’s a list of players who are perfectly suited to Leicester’s philosophy and system. If Brendan Rodgers signs these players, European football is almost definitely on the cards.

There are a number of areas requiring further backup and improvement. A full-back, primarily a right-back as behind Ricardo Pereira there’s only Daniel Amartey. Amartey is a competent full-back; however, he’s injury prone and is more suited to playing at the centre of defence, as shown with the Ghanaian national team.

Next will be a central midfielder. This is heavily dependent on the future of Youri Tielemans, who should be the first name on the shopping list this summer. However, if the unfortunate happens and Leicester don’t get the Belgian on a permanent basis then improvements are needed in central midfield.

There’s also a need for a winger. Marc Albrighton is still an integral player in the squad, as are Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray – who has had the chances this season to prove he’s the talent everyone speculates he is but without much success.

Albrighton, 29, isn’t getting any younger and with the inconsistencies of Gray, a formidable winger would provide a major boost to Leicester’s attacking options. The last position in need of recruitment is up front. Jamie Vardy will continue to be Leicester’s primary attacking force, but Kelechi Iheanacho hasn’t justified the £25 million spent on him and doesn’t possess the abilities to join Vardy in a front two.
