Manchester United are the favourites to sign James Maddison from Leicester City this summer, as they are for every other footballer in the world. Apparently.

Betway have United priced at 4/11, while Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all priced at 20/1 to sign the sensational playmaker.

The Sun, however, suggest something entirely different. They report that Maddison has already decided to stay at the King Power Stadium as he is happy where he is.

The report also states that Rodgers could even try and give his star no.10 an improved contract as a deserved reward for his displays for the side. It could also help put-off his potential suitors.

The former Norwich City midfielder had a remarkable first season in the Premier League as he looked pretty much at home in the top division.

He was the only player to create 100 chances in the league and scored more direct free-kicks (three) than any other player.

Overall, he scored seven goals and recorded as many assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for Leicester last campaign. For a 22-year old who hadn’t tasted top-flight football before his transfer, those are mind-boggling numbers.

No wonder United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs  are all interested in signing him this transfer window. But at Leicester, he has a top coach, fantastic young players and a leading role in the team, all of which is what any player would want.

The Foxes look set for big things next season, and Maddison would surely not like to not be a part of that. In an ideal world, he stays put.
