Leicester City should consider signing West Bromwich Albion’s Solomon Rondon, who performed so well for Newcastle United last season.

Leicester City desperately need their attack reinforced – that fact is indisputable. Though with the record of petty arguments between football fans – who knows?! In all seriousness, Shinji Okazaki and Kelechi Iheanacho were not supplying enough assistance to Vardy with regard to goals.

Now Okazaki has departed the King Power Stadium for good, and God knows what is going to happen with Iheanacho’s form, it’s time the Foxes reinvested in a proven Premier League striker. Regardless of that proposed signing being an understudy or potential rival to Jamie Vardy’s stranglehold occupation over the target man position, it could be resolved by this suggestion.

With bookmakers Leicester currently have 16/1 odds of capturing the signature of West Bromwich Albion’s Salomon Rondon. A player that could potentially fill the two roles, previously mentioned, available on Filbert Way: spurring Vardy on or assisting him – or both.

Meanwhile, with respect to the Venezuelan’s future, Birmingham Mail inform us:

"The WBA forward is unlikely to still be at The Hawthorns for next seasonWhere Salomon Rondon will be playing next season remains a mystery. The West Bromwich Albion striker, who has a year left on his deal at The Hawthorns, is unlikely to remain at the club after their failed to make an immediate return to the Premier League. There are a host of top flight clubs, though, who have an interest in Rondon, but no side have made any significant moves to secure the Venezuelan’s signature. The Magpies [are] the short-priced favourites, with Fenerbahce and Wolves joint second favourites.Everton, interestingly, come next, before West Ham, who appear to have dropped out of the race.Leicester City, who have released Shinji Okazaki and are keen on offloading Islam Slimani, and Watford are also attributed odds."

Last campaign Rondon managed to steer Newcastle United in the right direction, finally: managing 11 goals as a clinical forward. Along with being awarded Magpies Player of the Year. He is also the most prolific hitman ever for his country, as seen in the above tweet.

More from Foxes of Leicester

Unfortunately for the Foxes, if they are indeed interested as Birmingham Live suggests, it appears that the deal is more complicated than first thought. If Newcastle sign Rondon, then West Brom are very keen on taking Newcastle player Dwight Gayle on a permanent basis. That is all according to Daily Mail.

With the two clubs able to do one another a good deed and get what they respectively desire, it diminishes Leicester’s chance to poach the player.

The reported price for the 29-year-old is very reasonable: a contract clause means bids of £16.5 Million must be accepted. Tempting, is the word which comes to mind for a goalscorer that relatively cheap. Not to mention for a clever athlete and team player who uses his talents efficiently, as well as knowing his limits.
