Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has asked his representatives to arrange a “face-to-face meeting” with Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as revealed by Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast.

Maddison reportedly wants to know as to what his role would be in the team and whether or not does he get to play in his desired position – two factors that essentially determine if a player will flourish in a team or not.

For now, however, he wants to be focusing entirely on the UEFA European U-21 Championship. The former Norwich City star will only entertain potential suitors after that.

He has been widely linked with a £60 million move to United, but Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been reported to be interested in signing him this summer.

The Red Devils in particular have seemingly been after every single Leicester player. They’re the frontrunners for Harry Maguire, they want Maddison, and there have been whispers of their fascination with Wilfred Ndidi as well.

The current feeling is that Maguire is the most likely to be the first one to be out of the door, followed by Ben Chilwell.

The England international has been the subject of interest from Manchester City. At the moment, the Citizens seem rather busy trying to sign Rodri and João Cancelo, and once they are done there, they could possibly make their move for both Maguire and Chilwell.

Leicester will undoubtedly make a lot of money if the duo is sold – around £150 million – but signing suitable replacements for them is going to take quite an effort.
