Harry Maguire’s wages in £80m move revealed: Leicester City report
Harry Maguire will be one of the highest paid footballers at Manchester City if his £80m move from Leicester City transpires.
Earlier this weekend Foxes of Leicester published a piece stating that Leicester City should not accept any bids lower than £75 million for Harry Maguire.
That estimate seems to be a shared sentiment at King Power Stadium, as a bid of £80m for the centre-back has reportedly been agreed with Manchester City. If so, we believe the Foxes hierarchy have made a correct and astute decision.
Here is the latest from Mirror Sport on the Maguire transfer story:
"Harry Maguire is set to seal a world-record £80million switch to Manchester City this week.Maguire is ready to join City ahead of neighbours and rivals Manchester United in a world-record transfer for a defender, which is expected to top the £75million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.City are prepared to pay the England centre-half a whopping £280,000-a-week to quit Leicester and move to the Etihad."
Although it’ll be extremely disappointing to see the Sheffield-born defender leave Filbert Way, that fee goes along way towards the new training facility. Replacing the England stalwart is naturally a challenge, but Leicester have a penchant for finding, buying and developing world-class talent for fractionally relative prices.

In fact this transfer may be closer than many observers expect, with Metro claiming the Citizens have ‘penciled in’ the former-Sheffield United player for a medical this coming week.
Leicester’s chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha is allegedly reluctant to sell his prized defensive asset, though the rivalry from United and City has accelerated the move and increased the player’s value. From a Leicester fan’s perspective it is absolutely understandable to sell for a world-record fee for a defender.
