Youri Tielemans is keen on joining Leicester City, according to Sky Sports.

The talks with AS Monaco are understood to be progressing well but the deal isn’t as straightforward as Leicester will like it to be.

The Foxes may have to include Adrien Silva – who played for the Ligue 1 side on loan last season – as part of a cash plus player deal.

However, there are a number of clubs interested in the Portugal international, so Leicester are still  pushing for a cash-only deal around £40-45 million. Surely, this is exactly what the club should look to do.

Most of us share a fixation with Tielemans, having seen such sumptuous midfield displays during his loan spell at the club.

In 13 appearances for Leicester, he scored thrice and assisted five goals. That is a formidable return for a central midfielder, especially someone who is so young as well.

Therefore, it is comforting to hear that Leicester are pursuing him and even leading the race, as there had been reports stating that the price tag had put them off in the chase.

Nothing’s done yet, obviously – and Manchester United might still make this deal even more complicated for Leicester – but everything at the moment suggests that the Belgium international is coming to the King Power Stadium, after all.
