Player one recommended from Leicester City

Ricardo Pereira

Ricardo was incredible in his first season in a plethora of areas and in two separate positions, wing and right-back. He picked up the Leicester Player of the Year award as well, giving him a sure spot on the Foxes of Leicester EPL dream team.

Unfortunately the Portuguese is no longer an unknown or secret commodity, everyone knows he is a quality player. This means his price is relatively high, £6 million.

With only £100m to spend, most Fantasy managers would include two defenders around that price. Those choices would usually come from one of the big six sides. And don’t forget the goalkeeper, who also had to be a point scorer; Kasper Schmeichel had another decent campaign but the defence needs solidifying before he is a realistic option.

Ricardo’s goalscoring and assisting makes him a viable selection. Additionally, there is one reason the 25-year-old could be invaluable. The Portugal man may find himself permanently advanced to a winger – meaning his tally will benefit. This is because a defender gets a higher number of points for finishing and facilitating; the chance of doing so is improved if one is playing more forward.

Player two

Jamie Vardy

Vardy always delivers so we’re renaming him the post man. In all seriousness this player’s desire and seriousness on the pitch is a much-needed characteristic for FPL bosses. He’ll get you goals when Leicester don’t win or even play well.

At age-32 we are sure he’ll slow down at some point, if so he can always be transferred out. Though there is no sign of his ‘legs going’ yet.

Whereas a gaffer can find value for money in other areas of Leicester’s team, Vardy is a whopping £9m. With 15 places to fill with the hundred million it’s a vital decision that needs to be made here.

Other top-class strikers’ fees are as such: Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, £12m; Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, £11m; Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, £11m; Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Raul Jimenez, £7.5m.
