Leicester City signed Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United for £30 million. What has the Spaniard been saying since joining the Foxes?

Leicester City made a rather surprise yet very clever and important signing in Ayoze Perez last week. Most observers think this transfer window has been the most astute and promising in the East Midlands club’s history.

Since joining the Foxes, the former Newcastle United talisman has seemingly settled in with his team-mates very well. That is easy to see by viewing and reviewing the official club training camp photos from Evian, France, on the Leicester City website.

Talking to LCFC TV, Perez says of his move and future:

"“It’s a Club that’s really going places and I’m really excited to get started and be part of this project.“There’s an incredible amount of talent here at Leicester City and the Football Club has the ambition to match it, so I can’t wait to contribute to that.”Via: lcfc.com"

So Perez even enjoys the tiring, warm weather endurance training; some athletes can’t force a smile in these tough preparation periods. However, the 25-year-old was known as a terrific team player at Newcastle – putting in a lot of effort in track backs in matches and tackling well too. All this is extremely positive for the faithful.

More from Foxes of Leicester

Expect to see Perez play on the right-side of attack and as a support striker with Jamie Vardy next campaign. During the off-season friendlies it’s likely that the Spanish attacker will be fielded in a number of roles including one of the two number eight slots; currently occupied by Youri Tielemans and James Maddison.

In the above tweet it’s clear to see that Perez is more than excited for the upcoming games in pre-season. At Foxes of Leicester we are too. Along with knowing the Blue Army is very upbeat about 2019/20’s possibilities as well.

In fact, the forward said a year ago that he very much desires a move back to his home country to play again. The fact that the ‘Brendan Rodgers project’, and the faith shown in the man from Tenerife, attracted him to King Power Stadium is indicative to the side’s potential. Youri Tielemans was targeted by huge clubs and can also be entered into the ‘choosing to join’ category.
