Nobody can blame Adrien Silva for wanting a move away from King Power Stadium. What were his experiences at Leicester City and what will the future hold?

Adrien Silva’s English football nightmare will most likely be coming to an end very soon. A 14 second deadline miss began his troubles back in August 2017, as he wasn’t allowed to play for Leicester City until January of 2018 due to the paperwork error.

Silva could never break into the Foxes first team, whether that was due to his personal prowess or the absence of professional game time for months is debatable. A move to Monaco became his salvation in January 2019 after, ironically, 14 appearances in technically two years on Filbert Way.

Leicester Mercury quoted Silva in reference to his time at King Power Stadium, acclimatising to life in England, his future and thoughts on the Premier League:

"“I do not know what’s waiting for me. We’ll see on Sunday when I’m back in Leicester,” Silva told France Football.“(Leicester) was an experience that I didn’t really enjoy, so with the club we decided to look for a solution together.“It had not started well and it was a difficult experience in terms of emotional stability.“I wanted to discover the Premier League, and I’ve had the opportunity to do that. I’ve seen what I wanted to see. Now my priority is to be happy and for that I need to be on the pitch.“When you don’t play much, the rest doesn’t work out either. From a family point of view, it was hard to adapt too, the lifestyle is completely different, especially for children.“All of that did not help me. In fact, I never managed to catch up with those six months without playing.”"

In addition to the principality side, the club of Silva’s birthplace, Bordeaux is also said to be interested in acquiring the creative midfielder. Yet he himself stated in the same interview recently that Leicester nor he has received any ‘concrete offers’.

More from Foxes of Leicester

Foxes of Leicester see the last two years as almost a complete waste for this very talented, yet incongruous footballer in a foreign land that doesn’t suit him. The 30-year-old admits he hasn’t been able to acclimate to England professionally, neither have his family. Even the midfield man’s national games decreased.

What FoL expects is for Monaco to take Silva back on a season loan, with an option to buy at a fair price in 2020 from the Foxes. That’ll be best for all involved; along with ensuring the twilight of his career will be fulfilling.
