Leon Bailey

The Bayer Leverkusen winger is the least prolific, in terms of goals and assists, of this three-pronged shortlist. However, his dribbling and passing numbers certainly fit the profile outlined by Rodgers.

At the tender age of just 21, Bailey already has a wealth of top flight experience, similar to many of City’s current squad of seasoned youngsters. After two prolific seasons in the Belgian First Division A, he was snapped up by the Bundesliga outfit for a reported €20 million, and has since enjoyed three successful seasons in the German top flight.

Previously linked with Chelsea, as a future replacement to Eden Hazard, City would not face competition from their Premier League rivals due to their two window transfer ban. Though, Roma are one of many European giants linked with the youngster.

The Jamaica international, who has four senior caps for his country, would be available for an estimated fee of around €40m, in a move that would see him reunited with former Genk teammate, Wilfred Ndidi.

With 14 goals in 59 league games since the beginning of the 2017-18 campaign, Bailey’s output is respectable. Although, he only managed a measly one assist in 29 appearances this season.

Despite this disappointing statistic, the Jamaican’s support play is still impressive. Per 90 minutes, he averages 2.5 successful dribbles and 2.2 key passes, via WhoScored.

Overall, Bailey would be an upgrade in the winger department for Leicester City. However, his goal contributions may not be enough to warrant a €40 million price tag, especially considering the alternatives currently on the market.
