Nadiem Amiri should be snapped up by Leicester City as soon as possible

With a reported release clause of €14 million, Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri has been linked with a move to Leicester City. Is he worth it?
Primarily operating in an advanced midfield position, the Germany youth international also appeared on the left wing at the Under 21s European Championships, scoring three goals and registering two assists at the tournament. Positions Leicester may want to strengthen.
With Bayer Leverkusen also reportedly interested, the 22-year-old will be available for a bargain €14 million, although this clause will expire at the end of July.
Amiri, who is a citizen of both Germany and Afghanistan, averaged 2.2 key passes and 2.3 completed dribbles per 90 minutes in all competitions last season, while scoring a goal every 180 minutes he played – stats via WhoScored. The youngster has the potential to add desperately-needed goals from midfield for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Hoffenheim man’s versatility would certainly be useful to Leicester, who are reportedly looking for both a new winger and more depth in a No.8 mould to support the likes of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans. He is a significantly cheaper alternative to Dennis Praet, another creative midfielder linked with a move to the Foxes.
Since beginning his senior club career back in 2014 with Hoffenheim II, Amiri has made 127 appearances, 106 of those for the first team. Furthermore, with 48 youth caps for his national side, he is certainly not short of experience, despite his age.

This season, the 22-year-old managed four goal contributions (three goals and one assist) in 13 league appearances, predominantly in the second half of the season, due to a fracture back in August 2018.
The only real risk of this transfer would be Amiri’s multiple minor injuries that could escalate into something more serious, but for such a reasonable fee, the German is worth a punt.
