Harry Maguire could make his Manchester United debut against Chelsea as Leicester City prepare to bid farewell to him.

There’s only a few formalities left before he is announced as the world’s most expensive defender ever, with a €93 million fee agreed already.

The Red Devils fans are all pretty excited to see their new recruit in action and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that they may get their wish next weekend against Chelsea.

Here’s what the gaffer said when asked if the England international could play on August 11:

"“Let’s get the last details over the line but yeah.“He’s played a few games over the summer so we’ll have to assess him if and when.”"

Maguire has arrived in Manchester and will undergo his medical before signing a five-year deal, according to Fabrizio Romano – who has got everything right this summer, mind.

We’re all relieved, aren’t we? It has been a mad summer laden with Maguire to Manchester United rumours and endless reports of an accepted bid or the agreement being reached.

There were also whispers that the 26-year old will stay at Leicester but really, an exit was always inevitable.

Rejecting the opportunity to play for United is quite tough even with their sharp decline since Alex Ferguson called it a day.

When they come for you, no matter how happy you are at your respective club, you do think about it – they are one of the world’s biggest, after all.

Now the question is whether Maguire can handle the pressure that comes with becoming the sport’s most expensive defender ever and playing at Old Trafford.

Many a few are already questioning his quality, which is natural in this era of impetuous conclusions, especially when it’s relatively smaller clubs like Leicester that we are talking of.

Now it’s down to Maguire to not just shut his critics up but also make the Leicester faithful proud.
