Following his move from Leicester City to Manchester United for a world recorded fee, Harry Maguire had this to say about his former club.

Yes, Harry Maguire is kind of irreplaceable, but us Leicester City supporters still believe we got the best end of the deal at £80 million. Profits will undoubtedly be reinvested into appropriate signings, and of course there’s the new training ground’s expense.

Additionally, Hull City will approximately get a speculated £9.45m from Leicester’s profits, due to a cleverly placed clause in the Englishman’s Foxes contract. You’ve got to give the Tigers credit for that one – it is exceptional foresight.

Though the east Midlands side already have two very promising possibly future star centre-backs, in Croat Filip Benkovic and Turk Caglar Soyuncu. There is also Jonny Evans holding the fort down, with some opining that the veteran was and is our best defender anyway. They are wrong; but nice attempt in making us feel better, Leicestershire Live.

Maguire on Leicester City

Since Monday’s move to Old Trafford with Manchester United for £80m, Maguire has spoken of the King Power club:

"“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club and the fans for their fantastic support over the past two seasons. However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.”– Harry MaguireVia: Express Sport"

You really can’t blame the England man for wanting a move there. United were recently the most powerful and desirable club in the world. Obviously that status drastically diminished in the last ten years roughly – yet they remain a footballing superpower. Maguire could well be a catalyst in their revival.
