Andy King will thrive at Steven Gerrard’s Rangers: Leicester City news
In Foxes of Leicester’s opinion, Leicester City’s Andy King will thrive in his new capacity as a Rangers player in the Scottish Premier League.
Andy King is a Leicester City club legend. That is an indisputable fact; even if someone, Fox or not, attempted to disprove that statement – it wouldn’t change a thing.
When the Foxes won the Premier League title in 2016, “Kingy” wasn’t involved that often. He played his part as a substitute still, contributing on the pitch with a couple of goals and some good play but was not a first choice.
Although he will always be remembered for a more significant role when the club won the Division One and the Championship with Leicester City. Netting plenty of important and well-taken goals along the way.
A loan away from Leicester City
The Welsh international was, and still is, a valued, well-liked squad member. However, due to continually being far down the pecking order, he embarks on another loan. Joining up with Glasgow Rangers and former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard.
This exciting project in Scotland gives King another fresh move and chance to impress once more:
"“This came very recently,” said the former Liverpool midfielder. “We thank Leicester for the opportunity because you and I know from a financial situation there is no way in the world we can bring Premier League players in here.“But when this opportunity came up I wanted to get it done and get it done quick because it was a fantastic offer we had to grab. It made total sense in every shape and form.“…he [Andy King] is a winner, a Premier League winner…they need leadership and guidance in the dressing room. So it was a no brainer…he is hungry to play.”– Steven GerrardFor the entire quote go to: Leicester Mercury"
King will almost certainly thrive in the Scottish premiership. Let’s face it he is, or again was, English Premier League standard, scoring goals throughout the divisions domestically. And Scotland’s top-flight is of a dramatically lesser quality than its counterpart in England. Therefore we at Foxes of Leicester predict the Wales international to flourish north of the border and be fairly prolific in scoring – if he is starting.
