Islam Slimani, Adrien Silva look for new clubs: Leicester City news
Islam Slimani has a decent goalscoring record for Leicester City and Adrien Silva is a good player. But they don’t fit Brendan Rodgers’ system and are now looking for new clubs.
Islam Slimani came to Leicester City as an exciting club record signing. More cynical observers would say he was chiefly pinpointed as a transfer target to be a mate for Riyad Mahrez; in an attempt to keep the latter Algerian at the club.

Neither ploy was successful particularly, yeah Slimani scored a couple of important Champions League headers, as he should have. Along with a freakish looking strike versus Liverpool in the Carabao Cup. But he just doesn’t fit Leicester’s basic style of all action and tremendous efforts.
The less said about the purchase of Adrien Silva, the better! Where to start, oh yeah, 14 seconds. A terrible start began due to the ridiculously embarrassing debacle by the Foxes staff to stupidly send documentation late to FIFA. Basically asking to be made an example of.
That mistake cost Silva half a year of his very short career and seemed to derail his confidence, performance rate and therefore some of the quality he exhibited. He never got going for Leicester City and was out-of-favour with three different managers.
Obviously with Brendan Rodgers not favouring the duo either, it’s definitely the correct time to make their moves away from King Power Stadium. In fact the Foxes boss has indicated that they are doing so, as stated here:
"Brendan Rodgers has told Islam Slimani and Adrien Silva they are free to leave Leicester before the European deadline.Via: The Telegraph"
Rodgers is also quoted in the article for backing.
A European transfer deadline on September 2 means Spain, Portugal and Italy etcetera remain options for another couple of weeks. Thus there are plenty of places to go abroad with the English window closed. This will absolutely suit both players in every sense.
Did you expect to see more from either Slimani or Silva on Filbert Way?
