Legendary Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton says he and his team-mates are focussed on beating quality sides, such as next opponents Manchester United.

Brendan Rodgers outlined the Leicester City aspirations very clearly at the beginning of the season: qualify for Europe, finish high in the Premier League table and attempt to go on a domestic cup run by fielding strong teams in all Rounds.

With two expertly conducted wins to start the term, along with two draws – with one at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge – the Foxes are certainly on track for success. Breaking the dominance of the big six is another ambition for the East Midlanders. With respective turmoil at Manchester United and to some respect The Blues, Arsenal still underperforming and Tottenham Hotspur seemingly inconsistent, a perfect opportunity arises.

At present, the top-flight English division is just over halfway through a two-week holiday. Although the players are not vacationing; they of course are mostly involved in international competition. Ben Chilwell and James Maddison will hope, and generally deserve, to get some playing time for the Three Lions on Tuesday versus Kosovo in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

One Leicester City player who isn’t involved in national football is Marc Albrighton. He spoke to lcfc.com about the upcoming clash with the Red Devils – and the Blue Army will be delighted by his words:

"“We need to go to places like Old Trafford to win, not going there being overawed by it all,” Albrighton told LCFC.com. “We’re going there for three points and that’s it.“The big games against Manchester United away mean nothing if you’re not picking up three points against other teams at home, like we did against Bournemouth.“They’re always difficult, they’re always going to be tricky, but you’ve got to win those games and that’s where you pick up your points.”– Marc AlbrightonFor more go to Leicester Mercury"

More from Foxes of Leicester

Albrighton and the squad no longer targeting a point at sides such as a footballing superpower like United is incredible. It reveals the confidence of the roster, while being a completely new perceived status for the Foxes as a club.
