Leicester City will be up there challenging for top six this season, says former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have been on fire so far, drawing their first two games and winning the other two to go unbeaten into the international break. Yes, that’s true.

On the contrary, United have made the worst start possible – something we were all kind of expecting anyway. They smashed Chelsea 4-0 in the opening game; however, since then, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong for them.

Draws against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton and an embarrassing defeat at home to Crystal Palace has put them under huge pressure to turn up when they host Leicester.

Robson understands what the scale of the task is for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company. Speaking to MUTV, he said:

"“We (Manchester United) have got to step it up against Leicester and put on a really good performance and get good results that will get everyone buzzing again.“Yeah, they’ve had a good start to the season and have good young players. That’s why it’s important we have a good result against them.“I think they will up there challenging for the top six and they will want to get back into Europe. It’s a tough game as they have some good players but that’s the challenge for us.“If we want to be in the top four, we need to be beating teams like Leicester at home.”"

The task has been made tougher for the Red Devils because of the injuries to as many as five players, namely Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

None of them featured in their national team’s fixtures and are doubts for the game this weekend. But Leicester would not care, would they?

The kind of football they are playing, they would not fear peak United, let alone a poor man’s version of it.

They’d go to Old Trafford with the three points and only the three points on their minds. Given the way United have been playing, if the Foxes don’t crumble under pressure, they will come back home with a historic win.
