There are reports that Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering attempting to sign a Leicester City star trio when an opportunity arises.

All in all it’s been a decent start to the season for Leicester City, who went unbeaten for four Premier League matches at the start of 2018/19. Manchester United narrowly defeated the Foxes 1-0 on Saturday, thanks to a Marcus Rashford penalty.

Caglar Soyuncu was the guilty party there; though he had a good game and has made an excellent beginning to his premiership career overall. Harry Maguire’s are big shoes to fill, so to speak; the Turk will hopefully continue to develop and evolve with patience from boss Brendan Rodgers. An ideal candidate to man manage the centre-back starlet.

Interest in Leicester City players

When Soyuncu begins to receive transfer interest from media reports and rumours, we can truly see him as a vital Leicester starter – if he isn’t already. Other Foxes who’ve earned admiration include playmaker James Maddison. The senior England squad member has produced impressive displays in this new campaign; possibly not up to his usually incredibly high standards – but this is indeed a compliment.

More from Foxes of Leicester

Consequently to great King Power performances is the typical interest from richer clubs, perceived of real, in star performers. United are said to be monitoring the 22-year-old, who says he wants to play at ‘the highest level’.

Although the Blue Army are used to dealing with this talk every transfer window: January and summer. Now though, it seems the speculation has congested and spilled out into the season proper. And it is therefore even more unnerving.

Adding to reports on Maddison’s future, is a story that Demarai Gray – strangely, after more disappointing initial outings – and Harvey Barnes are in Tottenham Hotspur’s cross hairs. Oh, and the North London side apparently want “Madders”, too:

"Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring Leicester City trio James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray. According to Football Insider, City’s Premier League rivals are big admirers of the English youngsters. It is said that Maddison, Barnes and Gray are on the radar of Spurs, with boss Mauricio Pochettino ordering the club’s scouts to watch Maddison and Gray.Via: LCFC Live"

If Spurs want Maddison and Barnes they will have to pay over £100 million, surely. The two sides meet on Saturday in the top-flight.

Leicester Mercury are quite right to also discuss the fact that Spurs have had an alleged interest in all three over recent years. Yet, once again, this writer feels it necessary to propose that the Foxes retain their prized assets – regardless of ridiculous prospective amounts offered. Only then is the top-six a realistic ambition.
