Star Leicester City player ‘unlikely’ to feature against Newcastle United
Unfortunately this key Leicester City player is unlikely to face Newcastle United on Sunday, as the Foxes assistant manager has labelled him a major doubt.
Just as Leicester City get into their groove as well as a decent run of momentum and form – despite the avoidable Manchester United loss – a minor disaster occurs. Luckily Brendan Rodgers has many options to cover his intriguing duo No.8 position – now one choice may have to enter the fray at King Power.
James Maddison was instrumental in Leicester’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, scoring the winning goal and playing very well overall. Though he took a heavy knock and is unlikely to feature against Newcastle United on Sunday, through consequently being labelled a doubt by the assistant manager, Chris Davies:
"“Madders [James Maddison], he got a knock on his ankle. He looks a doubt for the weekend. We’ll see how he goes and how he recovers next week.”Via: LCFC Live"
This is a real shame for Maddison, who’s begun the season very impressively; regardless of being stuck out on the wing for half of his appearances. Now Rodgers has moved him into an advanced central role and the former-Norwich man’s form subsequently increases – he gets an injury. Fortunately the problem doesn’t seem to be a long-term one.

This season Maddison has provided two assists and scored one goal in the Premier League this term; the deciding finish occurring versus Spurs, taken with aplomb. He was called-up to the England squad for the recent Euro 2020 qualifiers but Mason Mount took precedence over him – in Gareth Southgate’s eyes at least.
Dennis Praet is first on the list of replacements, proverbially banging on the gaffer’s door for an opportunity. He may have started anyway as Youri Tielemans’ displays have only just started to resemble last campaign’s exhibited prowess. Hamza Choudhury is another option in midfield that may be used; although he is more defensive-minded.
