Leicester City midfielder James Maddison can take a struggling Manchester United to the next level, says Gary Pallister.

That’s another former United player who is now on record as being an admirer of the 22-year old, and really, we cannot blame any of them. After all, Maddison is pretty good.

Harry Maguire has already left for a sinking ship and now Maddison is being heavily linked with a move to the Old Trafford as well.

Will he or won’t he move is a question for a different day but for now, we have to bear all of these United legends and their rather repetitive advices.

"“There was a lot of talk about him in the press,” Pallister told BonusCodeBets.“He stood out in the game against Tottenham, he’s got a lot of quality and energy – and he obviously scored the winner.“He’s the type of player who can take Man United to the next level. However, Ole needs to try his best for now to squeeze the best out of the squad he has for the next few months.”"

Maddison has started this season on just as bright a note as he ended the last season on.

He has two assists and a goal in six Premier League games – including a stunning winner against Tottenham last week.

His reputation now only getting better and a place in Gareth Southgate’s England surely a matter of when rather than if, it would be a bit silly were the former Norwich City man to leave.

He has a leading role at the club and is central to the plans going forward, he has a top coach and fantastic young players around him. That’s all that any player would really want.

The amazing stat that shows how much Leicester City have progressed under Brendan Rodgers. dark. Next

But as you know, the lure of clubs like United and Liverpool  is something else. And when they knock on your door, you just cannot ignore it – like Maguire couldn’t when the Red Devils came for him.
