Leicester City and Manchester City are reportedly battling it out for a 15-year-old Turkish starlet who’s already impressed this season. He also began at the same team as Caglar Soyuncu.

This campaign has begun very well for Leicester City, only the truly tough matches haven’t garnered points or progress. Brendan Rodgers is on course to reunite the King Power club with much-anticipated European competition.

That is technically the main aim of the team for the season. However, another would be strengthening the side in advance for many years to come. To that end, the Foxes are reportedly monitoring a 15-year-old Turkish starlet. Burak Ince is playing youth international football, too.

Incredibly, Ince graduated from the club’s youth set-up after a switch and is now playing for the senior side at this tender age. Furthermost, Caglar Soyuncu also started his career at Altinordu as well.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich and now Leicester are apparently tracking the young playmaker. His star has risen in Turkey, and obviously now global football media, because of his two goals already for the men’s side.

Seyit Mehmet Ozkan, Altinordu president, wants a small fortune for his youthful midfielder, around €3.5 million if Fotospor – a Turkish sports media outlet – is to be believed. Leicester Mercury also picked up the story and mentioned the Citizens.

Leicester should pay the roughly £3m in January and be done with it – before either superpowers beat the East Midlanders to Ince. If Soyuncu’s prowess, proficiency and potential is anything to go by, that is. In Foxes of Leicester’s opinion, the former Freiburg defender is the club’s Player of the Season elect after only eight Premier League outings this term. Surely he’ll be able to take the youngster under his wing.

İnce insight

We also spoke to Turkish football expert Emre Sarigul, co-founder of website www.turkish-football.com, about the playmaker:

"“Burak İnce is the boy wonder. Very talented boy who is already first team for the club. “And let me put it like this: Burak grew up looking up at Çağlar [Söyüncü] as his inspiration. I know both of them from years back.“[Best friends] Çağlar and Cengiz Under came from the same academy/club. He’s [İnce’s] part of the second wave of talent coming through. They [Altinordu] are producing some of the best talent in Turkey.”"

Another favourite Turk for Leicester City – at the famous, now defunct Filbert Street of course – was Muzzy Izzet. This writer grew of age watching he, Neil Lennon and, yes, Robbie Savage dominate some pretty iconic midfielders growing up. Special times. Izzet was severely underrated though an international, along with being of a similar mould to this prospective addition.
