Club ‘leading chase’ to sign Leicester City star may surprise you

Ben Chilwell is a prized asset at Leicester City, despite not being at his best currently. Though he is apparently a January transfer target of a huge yet surprising club.

This season Leicester City star Ben Chilwell hasn’t quite reached the heady heights of last season. Meanwhile, as we await England’s kick-off against the Czech Republic, it is assumed that he is Gareth Southgate’s first choice left-back still.

It’s not that the 22-year-old isn’t still one of the best performing full-backs in the Premier League but his lofty standard isn’t quite being recreated for the Foxes this campaign. Regardless of that, Foxes of Leicester feel there are only a few tweaks and refinements needed in order to fulfill potential.

However, the East Midlands club academy graduate has maintained his defensive prowess so far this term. If the forward moves can increase with key passes assists and the odd goal he will truly be at the top of his game. In all honestly, the attack-minded play needed some work even in 2018/19, though he was such a revelation it wasn’t particularly mentioned.

Interest in Leicester City No.3

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola were said to be very keen on Chilwell up until the summer, with a bid never materialising. Then there is Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp revealed they had made offers twice: once under his leadership and on another occasion when Brendan Rodgers – now Leicester boss – was at the Reds helm.
