Former Manchester United player Jose Kleberson is not sure if James Maddison is good enough to make the big switch to Old Trafford.

The Leicester City star has been linked with the Red Devils and is understood to be one of their main targets next summer.

United are reportedly preparing a £60 million move for the 22-year old – they are also willing to shell out just as much for Ben Chilwell – however, Kleberson is not in favour of the transfer.

Speaking to US Bookies, the United “flop”, who only managed 30 appearances over the course of his two massively underwhelming seasons at the club, said:

"“I don’t think it would be great for Maddison to join Manchester United.“They [Leicester City] have had a good start to the season but when you do a big jump from a smaller club to United, it is mentally tough for these players.“They have to be able to learn to adapt to play at a big club.“It will be interesting to see if they can, but I don’t know if he will be a good enough signing for United."

United sit 12th in the Premier League table, devoid of any vision, any direction, ambition or any course of action that they think best suits them.

Add to that, there is no hope of them getting better anytime soon. In fact, it will only get worse.

The question isn’t whether Maddison is good enough to play for United, it’s whether they are good enough for the Leicester midfielder.

Apart from their wage bill and the egos in the dressing room, what is big about this so-called biggest club in the world anyway? Absolutely nothing is the answer.

Maybe Kleberson can do some research before speaking something as baseless about a player who is clearly more talented, committed and hard-working than 90% of the players at United.
