Following a difficult win, Brendan Rodgers spoke of late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and his son, current Leicester City owner, Aiyawatt or “Top”.

With more and more fans, pundits, experts and observers predicting a top four Premiere League finish as a realistic scenario, there is an understanding feeling of undeniable optimism online and in the stands for Leicester City.

However, in between rosy prospects and happiness was a contrastingly somber day for Foxes supporters. Saturday’s match against Burnley was the closest home game to nearly one year after the tragic event of late Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s death.

Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans did the damage for the East Midlands side on a poignant day. Harvey Barnes is finally starting to fulfil potential with one definite and brilliant assist. Barnes has also been attributed a second versus Sean Dyche’s outfit – although justice would see Demarai Gray awarded that one.

Before the Clarets clash members of the Blue Army completed a Walk for Vichai for the second time, in honour of the beloved, great chairman. The faithful – including current chair and son, Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha – were subsequently given the pleasure of a 2-1 victory following the gesture.

In the aftermath of the contest, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers spoke about new chairman, Khun Top:

"“I’m really delighted for them [squad], it was always going to be difficult to be at our fluent best. One because of the occasion, and two because of the opponent we were playing. To get the three points, to give the supporters that good feeling, and for Khun Top, who is here, it was really nice.”– Brendan RodgersFor more visit Leicester Mercury"

There was also a one minute’s silence held prior to kick-off at King Power Stadium for Khun Vichai. He died after a fatal and terrifying helicopter crash at the ground on October 27. A much admired person and businessman from Leicestershire to Thailand, he is sadly missed by all at the club; sadly four others perished with him in the disaster. It is believed that without Khun Vichai’s involvement as well as investment, the Foxes would probably have never lifted the premiership trophy.
