Sky Sports has published its power rankings for the week, or the most in form players – a Leicester City squad member is in second place.

This season Leicester City are really proving themselves in the Premier League. Not as mainstays, the King Power side are well passed that stage. Neither are they still considered a mid-table team.

No. In actuality the Foxes are thought of as realistic top six finishers; with the top four potentially achievable as some established big six members struggle to reignite flames of success and stability at the pinnacle of the English top-flight.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, along with chairman, Top Srivaddhanaprabha, have lofty aspirations for the East Midlands club. European qualification lies at the top of the to achieve list; as well as a viable FA Cup or League Cup run and, if possible, win either.

One standout performer for the Foxes this campaign is Portuguese attacking right-back Ricardo Pereira. He has been exceptional since joining on a permanent deal in summer 2018.

At first, many thought he would eventually become a winger for the – at that time Claude Puel’s – team. Ricardo wasn’t the most proficient defender at the beginning of his Leicester career. Though, more astute onlookers assessed that the former Porto man would take time to adjust to the rigorous premiership.

However, the 26-year-old started by being too weak in the tackle and struggled to get to grips with certain opponents. That soon developed into wonderful positioning and combativeness. Which complemented his attacking quality perfectly; Leicester play with two forward-thinking full-backs, as do Liverpool.

Now, Ricardo has hit the height of being named on Sky Sports’ power rankings as the second best performer from the entire division from the previous week. Sky assemble their list from a host of categories: pass success rate, goals, tackles etc.
