Jurgen Klopp says Hamza Choudhury has to change his dangerous challenges. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers disagrees with the Liverpool boss.

Hamza Choudhury is one of the finest products of the Leicester City academy in recent memory. He emerged from the Under-21s or development squad – or whatever the reserve level is called now – as a boss of that division. Now he’s laying down the law in the Premier League.

Choudhury not affected by opposition managers' criticism. light. Also

Choudhury is a tenacious footballer, yet contrastingly, a seemingly lovely, affable guy off the pitch. His challenging polarises opinion; basically with Foxes fans on one side and the rest of the top-flight support on the other. Although, believe me, any team would be lucky to have such an adept, committed and fearless defensive-minded midfielder like the 22-year-old available for deployment whenever necessary.

Us City faithful are lucky to be blessed with quality and focused talents in every position possible. Many are also young Englishmen, like Choudhury, and are making their mark on international proceedings too. Harvey Barnes and his aforementioned team-mate will definitely make their England debuts at some point in the future.

Criticism for Leicester City midfielder

There are three main incidents which have, however, landed Choudhury in relative hot water. First of all he received a red card for a wild tackle against the French U-21s at the European Championships. Jonathan Bamba recovered but was thought to have broken a bone at first – his injurer apologized.

Then Choudhury smashed Matt Ritchie with a similar effort to what the Newcastle United player was dishing out in the Carabao Cup – he needed surgery. Though Choudhury wasn’t dismissed. Mohamed Salah was taken down by the Young Lion versus Liverpool – it wasn’t intentional to injure. Salah took a week or two to become fully fit again from.

Following the previously mentioned foul, for which Reds manager Jurgen Klopp harshly criticized the youthful midfield man, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers leaped to his player’s defence. The Northern Irishman explained why Choudhury is so pugnacious:

"“The reaction to Hamza was right over the top for me. The boy went in to make a tackle. Mo Salah is a world-class player but you can tackle him. It wasn’t even a bad tackle.“You have to ensure they stay aggressive because that is their game, without overstepping the line. If you look at the team we play in an aggressive but sporting way.“Young Hamza is one of those lads that play on the limit and is fighting for his career. “His strength is recovering the ball and retrieving the ball, which he is very good at, and he is learning other aspects of his game.“The only way is constant work and talking with him.”– Brendan RodgersVia: Mirror Sport"
