Brendan Rodgers to Arsenal? Gunners don’t have that draw, says Jason Cundy

Arsenal do not quite have the draw for them to be able to cajole Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers into joining them, says Jason Cundy.

The Emirates Stadium is a wreck once again, with Unai Emery beginning to look like an appointment gone horribly wrong.

The Gunners are growing increasingly clueless and directionless under the Spaniard. The quality of football has fallen to a shocking low and there is no sign of any improvements in any aspect at all – if anything, Arsenal are getting worse day by day.

Even the player-fan relationship has gone into the pot, the final nail in the coffin being Granit Xhaka’s cupping of the ear upon being booed by the crowd and asking them to “f**k off” as the hosts blew away a 2-2 lead against Crystal Palace.

As all of this happens, Emery’s time could soon be up and the throne would once again be up for grabs.

Rodgers is one of the potential candidates, as he was before the Arsenal boss took over, but former Chelsea defender Cundy does not feel that the North Londoners have it in them to lure the Irishman away because he has everything he wants at the King Power Stadium.

"“Well, not if Leicester get Champions League football, that’s a tough call isn’t it?,” he told talkSPORT when asked if Rodgers would leave for Arsenal.“To take Leicester into the Champions League and then [leave for] Arsenal who are in the Europa League? I think Brendan would want to [stay].“I’m not so sure Arsenal have that draw right now.“Leicester have got a better chance of keeping Brendan if they get Champions League football.”"

Cundy is right, you know. Arsenal are a mess, like Manchester United, despite the recent overhaul of the backroom staff and the shipping out of some deadwood.

Next. Finishing in top four would be huge for Leicester City, says Matt Jarvis. dark

They will be an attractive proposition once again, but how long will it take for that to happen is something no one knows at the moment.
