The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw has been revealed and it’s Everton who welcome Leicester City to Goodison Park for an all-Premier League clash to secure a semi-final berth.

Leicester will be very happy with the draw, given how out of sorts the Toffees have been all season – and that is a bit of an understatement.

Marco Silva’s side have only won one of their last six league encounters and sit 16th in the table as a result with 10 points, just one more than Newcastle United. The only big six side they’ve faced so far are Manchester City.

It could really be a walk in the park for Leicester if they turn up in Merseyside. If you have seen Everton play this season, you would know how very bad have they been.

However, it cannot be forgotten that the Foxes have developed a habit of going out in the quarter-finals. They’ve not made it past this stage for two consecutive seasons (all competitions), losing to City twice in the league cup and Chelsea in the FA Cup (March 2018).

There’s a mental block which they are yet to overcome, but under Brendan Rodgers, one can be sure that they will rise above it.

Leicester’s real test, though, will come in the semi-final – if they do make it – where they are likely to face Manchester City (again), Manchester United or Liverpool.
